Dundee - (Apex City Quay Hotel)
The Pastry Chef will be responsible for the operation of the entire Pastry station, preparing items for a 100 cover Brassiere plus banqueting facilities up to 350 people. You will be expected to assist the Head Chef/Senior Sous Chef in ensuring the correct preparation, the making of pastry and desserts for presentation in the Restaurant, Function Rooms and Room Service, according to the standards of performance in order to maximise food sales. At times you may be required to support the team in other areas of the kitchen. In this position of Pastry Chef you will be expected to ensure that health and safety procedures are implemented at all times and to comply with hygiene regulations. You will also help design menus, ordering and assist with the development of staff within the team.
At least NVQ Level 3 in Food Preparation/Pastry equivalent.
Must be able to lead by example, have excellent attention to detail, be self-motivated and be a team player. Excellent communication and organisation skills are essential. The ideal Pastry Chef will have previous 4 or 5 star experience or worked within a high quality Restaurant with Rosette experience. A candidate who is used to working in a mixed corporate and leisure environment where you hadve undertaken kitchen management duties including working within hygiene regulations would be well suited to this position.
40 hours average per week. Shifts worked 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis. Will include some split shifts.
