London 2012 Festival (21 June – 9 September 2012)

2012 really is the year where all eyes will be on London, and the city has the global spotlight like never before.

London .. one amazing year

The £52m London 2012 Festival is the largest festival the UK has ever put on, bringing over 10 million opportunities to the country. Yes you heard correctly 10 million opportunities – that’s over 12,000 performances and events going on throughout the summer. It's the hottest ticket of the year and is definitely going to be a showstopper, where most of the events taking place are FREE. The London 2012 Festival is a once in a life opportunity and is set to be the largest cultural celebration of our lifetime!

Leading artists from all over the world will have the chance to share and be part of something amazing. Performances created by over 25,000 artists will come together to celebrate the grand finale of the Cultural Olympiad - a program of celebrations and events that have been running since 2008. You can enjoy everything from free concerts, to art exhibitions, to Shakespeare plays, to dance performances, to outdoor carnivals. Whether you love fashion, dance, food, music, carnivals, theatre, art or film, you’ll find something you and the family can get involved in – this is one iconic 12-week festival that you have to experience.

With the likes of Damon Albarn, Plan B, Tracey Emin, Damien Hirst, Jude Law, Leona Lewis and Mike Leigh, it’s no wonder the festival has been called ‘A summer like no other’ as it promises to excite, ignite and thrill Londoners and visitors throughout the 12-week period of celebrations.

“Here in London, we want to create a summer like no other, so that Londoners and visitors, wherever they are in the capital, come away feeling they have been part of something exhilarating, a unique moment in time the like of which they could get nowhere else”. The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson.

London 2012 celebrations will be taking place across the UK, so look out for events and tickets in your area.
