We recently welcomed Slate4Films to Apex City of London and Apex London Wall, where they filmed scenes for stylish new movie Two Days in the Smoke. A romantic black comedy set in London, it is a fast paced thriller with a splash of romance. Starring Matt Di’Angelo, Lili Bordan, Alan Ford and Jess Fletch, the film follows the rapidly extinguishing lives of a group of people who have no idea their destinies are inextricably interconnected.
We caught up with Location Manager and Production Co-ordinator, Oriana Ornitharis, to find out more about this exciting independent production.
What made you choose Apex Hotels?
A great central location that matched our brief to ‘find a luxury, four star hotel’ and wonderful views from the hotel bedrooms. The room size was ideal for the shoot itself as it was very big with lots of natural light. Plus the furnishings of the room are very contemporary and matches well with the style of the scenes being filmed in the bedrooms. We have also taken out rooms for our hair and make-up team, who have made use of the large desk spaces available! The quiet street location made filming outside perfect for us. The team at Apex have been so nice to us and accommodating, we really couldn’t have completed this film without them. The Crew and Director of Photography are so happy with the location choice and I have definitely met the brief!
How many locations will be used to make this film?
There are around 20 iconic London locations that we have used for the filming of Two Days in the Smoke. These include Tower Bridge, Kensington, city parks etc and we are also filming in Paris.
How long will it take to make the film?
Filming takes 4 weeks – we are on a very tight schedule, and post production will be about 2 months.
When is the film released?
The date is yet to be confirmed, but is due out in October 2012.
