Event of the Month | Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival
(18 – 27 July)
July in Edinburgh welcomes some of the giants of Blues and Jazz, including big name acts such as Van Morrison, Jools Holland and Bill Wyman. This two week Jazz and Blues Extravaganza features over 140 gigs, held across 13 venues within Edinburgh City Centre, featuring diverse musical styles ranging from bop, boogie-woogie, samba and soul.
This exciting music festival takes place in stunning venues across the city; they’ll also be the opportunity to enjoy some alfresco Jazz on the Grassmarket, as musicians take to the street and entertain you whilst you enjoy some shopping, eating or drinking in the beautiful Grassmarket – right outside our Apex International Hotel and Apex City Hotel.

A Capital View: The Art of Edinburgh (4 June 2014 – 6 July 2014)
This exhibition charts the history of Edinburgh through an exquisite collection of paintings, prints and sculptures. Don’t miss this opportunity to view some unique and rare artworks that show the development of this beautiful city. Edinburgh Famers’ Market (Every Saturday)
The Edinburgh Farmers’ Market has become an Edinburgh institution. Held every Saturday, and located a short walk from Apex International Hotel and Apex City Hotel, you’ll find a fantastic array of Scottish produce to tickle your taste buds.

River Dipping (3 – 29 July)
Keep the kids occupied and take them for a cooling dip in the Water of Leith to discover the diverse wildlife that inhabits our inner city river. Bring your waterproofs and wellies, and prepare to get wet as you and your children discover what creatures lurk beneath the Water of Leith. Children must be accompanied by an adult and booking is advised.

The Art of Golf (12 July 2014 – 26 October 2014)
Learn about a Scotland’s other famous export: Golf, in this exciting exhibition about Scotland’s national sport. You’ll get the chance to see golf as it was in its early days, right through to the present day via a collection of beautiful artwork, museum pieces and memorabilia that sport and Scotland’s past.

Pentlands Walking Festival (24 – 26 July)
Escaping to the great outdoors is easier than you think in Edinburgh. Located a stone’s throw from the city centre, the Pentland Hills Regional Park boasts some of the finest views of Edinburgh and the Lothians.
