Haymarket Edinburgh travel guide
Enjoy authentic Edinburgh
Haymarket is more than just a transport hub. Located just west of New Town's upscale shopping and Old Town's rich historical attractions, Haymarket is home to some of the most authentic dining in Edinburgh, adjacent to BT Murrayfield Stadium, and within walking distance of Edinburgh Castle and the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.
Apex Haymarket Hotel is located in the heart of the area, bounded on the east by Haymarket rail station and on the west by BT Murrayfield Stadium. The stadium -- the official home of Scottish Rugby and the host of Edinburgh's top concerts - draws friendly crowds of locals, who often stop in for a pint at Metro West End Bar & Restaurant on the walk over. Other attractions near the immediate area include the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art (0.7 miles from Apex Haymarket Hotel) and Edinburgh Castle (1.2 miles). Old Town and New Town are a short walk away, and are also accessible via a short and affordable ride on the Edinburgh Trams.
Haymarket is a convenient area for business travel, thanks to its proximity to Edinburgh City Centre and the Edinburgh International Conference Centre. Edinburgh Airport is only a 25-minute trip away via car or tram, and Haymarket rail station offers connections to Glasgow, London, Manchester, and other major cities in the UK.
