Description
The Scottish Football Museum is the country’s national museum of football and is home to the world’s most impressive national collection of football related objects and memorabilia. Glasgow is a football city and this proudly maintained shrine is located at Hampden, Scotland's national stadium, which is located two miles due south of the city centre.
Scotland was as important as any nation in establishing the modern sport, reflected by the memorabilia on display, including a ticket from the first international, played against England in 1872, and the world's oldest national trophy, 1873's SFA Challenge Cup. Inductions to the Hall of Fame include legends like Jimmy Johnstone and Jim Baxter. Behind the scenes tours of the stadium are also available. Get to Hampden by train from Glasgow Central to Mount Florida or King’s Park, or jump on a bus: nos. 5, 6, 7, 7A, 31, 34, and 90 operate a regular service from and to the city centre.
