The McManus: Dundee's Art Gallery and Museum
Description
The McManus is housed in a Gothic revival building designed by George Gilbert Scott, and celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2017. It was conceived as a memorial to Prince Albert and originally called the Albert Institute.
It has a rolling programme of events and exhibitions.
It houses a collection focused on natural history and fine and decorative art. 20th century Scottish colourists are well represented including Colquhoun, Eardley, Fergusson, Cadell, Redpath and MacTaggart.
It is accredited to Museums Galleries Scotland.
The museum is located centrally, close to the Overgate and Wellgate Shopping Centres.
