If you’d like to check-in early please request this when booking or by calling reservations on 0800 049 8000. We offer luggage storage so if you arrive before your room is ready, you can leave your bags at reception and head out for the day. This also applies if you would like to leave luggage after check-out and collect later in the day. Unfortunately, due to availability, we can’t guarantee an early check-in.

You can request late check-out at 12pm subject to availability and fees apply.

If you would like to amend or cancel your booking please check your cancellation terms which can be found on your email confirmation, amendments may be subject to a charge. Any amendments or enquiries can be made by emailing edinburgh.reservations@apexhotels.co.uk or calling 0800 049 8000.

If you have booked through a third party such as Expedia or Booking.com please contact them directly to make cancellations or amendments.

All our hotels and restaurants are fully accessible by wheelchair. Our friendly team will be happy to assist you throughout your stay. All our hotels have disabled access rooms. Please call our reservations team on 0800 049 8000 to book an appropriate room for your requirements.

Parking for hotel guests is £20 per day, available on a first come first served basis.

Non-hotel guests are subject to different parking rates.

We have a heated pool in our Apex Grassmarket Hotel next door that guests are free to use

There is a fully equipped gym with modern cardio and weight-training equipment next door at Apex Grassmarket Hotel available for use.

The hotel is centrally located in Edinburgh's Old Town, with easy access to the city's main transport hubs.

Train: Edinburgh Waverley Station is the closest mainline rail terminal, approximately a 10–12 minute walk from the hotel via the Royal Mile or South Bridge. Waverley serves intercity routes to London, Glasgow, Aberdeen, and the wider Scottish rail network.

Edinburgh Haymarket Station is also around 20 minutes on foot or a short bus journey, serving cross-country and suburban routes.

Airport: Edinburgh Airport is accessible via the Edinburgh Trams service. The nearest tram stop is Princes Street, roughly a 15 minute walk or short bus ride from the hotel, with trams running frequently you can reach the airport in approximately 35 minutes.

The Airlink bus is also available from Waverly Bridge.

Bus: Lothian Buses operate numerous routes providing connections across the city. The hotel is within walking distance of several stops on routes including the 2, 26, 43 and X56.

The hotel sits in Edinburgh's historic Grassmarket district, placing you within walking distance of the city's most significant landmarks.

- Edinburgh Castle is the closest major attraction. The castle entrance is a 5 minute walk uphill via the Vennel steps or the Royal Mile.

- Greyfriars Kirkyard, the 16th-century churchyard associated with Greyfriars Bobby, is a 3 minute walk from the hotel. The famous bronze statue of Bobby stands at the junction of Candlemaker Row and George IV Bridge.

- The Royal Mile, the historic route connecting Edinburgh Castle to the Palace of Holyroodhouse, is accessible via the West Bow in under 5 minutes.

- Victoria Street, widely cited as an inspiration for Diagon Alley in the Harry Potter series, runs directly from the Grassmarket and is steps from the hotel entrance.

- The National Museum of Scotland on Chambers Street is a 7 minute walk
