Bath is widely recognised as a wellbeing destination due to its spa heritage. The Roman Baths, which are located right at the heart of the World Heritage site, boast thermal springs, and the Baths still flow with natural hot water. You can ‘visit’ the Baths and The Pump Room in 3D, and find out more about the museum collection and the ruins of the Temple of Sulis Minerva. There’s so much to see, you won’t want to miss out.
In contrast to the Roman Baths, the modern and award-winning Thermae Bath Spa is the ultimate place to relax and rewind. As Britain’s only naturally warm spa with mineral-rich waters, it allows you to imagine how the Romans and Celts bathed thousands of years ago. You can take in the beautiful views from the outdoor pool without going out your front door - but we’re sure that once you see it, it’ll be firmly on your to-do list for your future visit.
Another popular historical attraction is Bath’s Victoria Art Gallery – the perfect stop for art enthusiasts. The gallery boasts a collection of more than 1,500 artworks which you can view from your home thanks to the Google street view tour of the collection. With walkthrough videos, you’ll get the perfect opportunity to appreciate the art, with paintings and sculptures on display dating from the 15th century to the present day.
Not far from Bath is the incredible Longleat Safari which is a must for families or animal lovers. Longleat is home to the UK’s original safari park which is now home to over 1,200 animals. Whilst there’s no chance of getting too close to the animals, a 30-minute virtual safari tour could be the perfect solution to ease some boredom during an afternoon in with the kids.
The city is well known for its gorgeous Georgian architecture which is why The Assembly Rooms are a must-see.
