Christmas Traditions Across Our UK Cities

London

Our capital city has some of the most picturesque neighbourhoods with impressive Christmas decorations. For something a bit different, check out window displays at London department stores to restaurants including Annabel's Mayfair and the Ivy Garden Chelsea.

Or, grab your wand and head to Hogwarts to see the Great Hall decked out for Christmas at Hogwarts in the Snow at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter.

Bath

The beautiful streets of Bath will be transformed into a magical, festive experience like no other from 23 November. Featuring over 200 twinkling chalets entwining some of Bath’s most iconic monuments, with a plethora of food and beverage stalls and a light display that will transport you to another word, it’s definitely one to add to the to-do list this festive season.

Edinburgh

Edinburgh always brings it for Christmas. The amazing markets attract countless visitors each year but there's more to this city's spirit than stalls.

On 3 December at 10:00, locals gather to Saunders Street in Stockbridge to cheer on the Santa parade with a pipe band and iconic Tunnock's van. Santa will be there on his sleigh with reindeer to wave to everyone along. The best part is, it's free!

Dundee

A great reason to visit the City of Discovery this Christmas is to experience the RSNO's annual Christmas concert that's making a return on Wednesday 20 December in Caird Hall, featuring the iconic Snowman. And, it's all within walking distance of the 4-star Apex City Quay Hotel & Spa, home to chic leisure facilities, including a restaurant, bar, spa, pool and more!

Glasgow

A carnival at Christmastime! Glasgow's Style Mile Christmas Carnival entails an afternoon full of festive performances and entertainment in and around the city's main shopping streets and centres on the 26 November.

The carnival launches at 13.00 with the Lord Provost, the Glasgow Childrens’ Hospital Charity and Vivace junior performers. Between 13.30 - 17.00 there will be street entertainment all along Buchanan Street and within the shopping centres of St Enoch, Buchanan Galleries, Princes Square and the Argyll Arcade.
