12 months out
- Start your research. This includes attending a wedding fair to get some inspiration. Our Dundee hotel hosts wedding fairs throughout the year, keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates.
- Pick a date.
- Work out your budget.
- Decide on the number of daytime and nighttime guests.
- Book your venue/s and wedding planner and pay your deposit.
- Book your officiant.
10 months out
- Hire your photographer/videographer.
- Book the entertainment.
- Look for/buy your wedding dress/tuxedo/suit.
- Reserve a block of hotel rooms for your guests and book suites for yourself and your bridal party.
7 months out
- Order your invitations and wedding favours.
- Book your honeymoon.
- Buy your bridesmaid dresses and groomsmen suits.
- Book your florist.
- Book your hair and makeup.
- Pay half your deposit.
4 months out
- Order your cake.
- Choose your first dance.
- Send save the dates.
- Book your wedding cars.
3 months out
- Finalise your menu and confirm flowers.
- Buy your rings.
- Touch base with your venue and vendors to ensure all is going to plan.
- Buy all your wedding accessories.
2 months out
- Enjoy your hen and stag celebrations.
- Send out your invites.
1 month out
- Attend your final fittings.
- Get your marriage paperwork/give notice.
- Make a seating chart.
- Type up a list of must-take shots and send to your photographer.
- Get your pre-wedding beauty treatments and facials for glowing skin.
- Organise for the cake to be delivered to the wedding reception.
- Pay final balance to venue.
1 week out
- Confirm times with your venue and vendors.
- Pick up dresses and suits.
- Pack for the honeymoon if you're leaving shortly after the wedding.
